Collect the base information
Keep the builder plan, electrical layout if available, appliance sizes and possession notes together. Treat drawings as a starting point and verify critical dimensions on site before manufacturing.
List retained and new work
Mark builder-provided flooring, doors, counters, sanitary fittings and electrical points that will remain. This prevents the interior scope from quietly assuming replacement work.
Freeze appliances early
Refrigerator, hob, chimney, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and television dimensions influence cabinetry and electrical planning. Unknown appliances create avoidable filler panels and revisions.
Prioritize storage
Write down the storage problem in each room before discussing finishes. Kitchen pantry, luggage, daily clothes, linen, shoes, cleaning supplies and work-from-home equipment need different solutions.
Plan site dependencies
Civil changes, electrical relocation, ceiling work, painting and modular installation have an order. Ask for the sequence before scheduling move-in or appliance delivery.
